Ordonez fractured his right ankle when was thrown out at home trying to score on a Miguel Cabrera double in the bottom of the third inning. He is expected to be sidelined 6-to-8 weeks. The right-hander was sent to the minor leagues on July 7 following his start the day before against Baltimore, when he went 6 2/3 innings and was charged with three runs on 10 hits.
